Acupuncture

For thousands of years, acupuncture has been used to heal, reduce, eliminate pain and bring balance to our body, mind and spirit. Acupuncture may influence physical responses in nerve cells, the pituitary gland, and parts of the brain. These responses can cause the body to release proteins, hormones, and brain chemicals that control physiological functions. It is proposed that, by these actions, acupuncture affects blood pressure and body temperature, boosts immune system activity, and causes the body's natural painkillers, such as endorphins, to be released. The acupuncturist uses very thin, hair like sterilized needles which are made of surgical stainless steel, used once, and disposed of a sharps container afterwards.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air). The pressure that the cups create draws fresh blood to the affected area, releasing toxins, increasing circulation of blood & lymph, release fascia tension and reducing inflammation. Toxins in our body build up in the blood from environmental stressors like unhealthy dieting or injuries and cause poor circulation in the body. Poor circulation leads to a dysfunction since the body tissues aren’t receiving fresh oxygen and nutrients from blood. Cupping can be used for various types of pain including neck, shoulder, back, leg and fibromyalgia. It also benefits respiratory, menstrual and digestive problems.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine is an integral aspect of healing and can be a powerful supplement to acupuncture care. Highly effective herbal formulas, which treat many common conditions without the negative side effects associated with pharmaceuticals, have been administered and tested during this long history. Over the millennia, it had to deal with everything from headaches and neck pain, to malaria and plagues.
